12noon- Dropped Maggie and Amanda off at school. Marcus cried. (For explanation, read
this.)
12:15pm- Changed Marcus’s diaper, gave him a bottle through his g-tube since he didn’t eat lunch or breakfast well, and put him down for his nap.
12:30pm-Ate some lunch (grilled cheese, small salad and Diet Sunkist)
12:45pm- Folded, moved and started more laundry (all alone)
1pm-Practiced my sign language and did some reading, answered a few emails
2pm-Boys came home on the school bus (Thursday is “Early Release Day”, normally they all get home at 3pm), the girls went to their activity at the church
2-2:30p.m. Talked to the boys about their days at school, fed them a snack, looked through backpacks and organized homework and books, boys got into Tae Kwon Do uniforms.
2:35pm Josh picked up girls at church and boys at our house and drove them all up to Tae Kwon Do (having a hubby/dad that works only 2 miles from home is a VERY nice thing).
2:45pm Maggie and Amanda got home on their school bus. They had a snack and we chit chatted about their day, they showed me their paintings and then they laid down to watch a movie and take a rest.
3:15pm Put away laundry piles, pulled out a lasagna from the freezer (read about my secret recipe
here) and put it in oven.
3:45pm Marcus woke up from nap (yes, he sleeps 3-4 hours every afternoon). I rocked Marcus, changed his diaper, got him a sippy cup and he took off running, playing with a big helium balloon Shane brought home from school for being a “super reader”. I played with the kids, checked my email and answered a quick phone call.
5pm Josh brought the “big” kids home from Tae Kwon Do. We all talked for a little while, then the kids sat down for homework. Shane and Ben did their math practice, Des did her math homework, Nathan and Ry didn’t have any and Mercy had Josh help her draw and a maze for art and we talked about “freedom” for a paper she is writing. It was a great conversation.
5:45pm- The kids ran off to do their chores (Des set the table).
6pm- We sat down to dinner…lasagna, biscuits, fresh veggies and ranch. Ice cream for desert.
6:30pm- The kids went and did their 30 minutes of reading while I cleaned up the kitchen and chatted on the phone with my best friend while I cleaned. Josh read with Ben.
7pm Kids got washed and changed for bed. I read to Maggie, Amanda and Marcus (the Little Mermaid. AGAIN). I ignored the fact that Survivor was on, because I wasn’t sure I wanted the kids to watch the tribes “divided by race” thing.
7:15pm- We all sat down and read scriptures together.
7:40pm- We had family prayers
7:55pm- We tucked everyone into bed.
8pm- GRAY’S ANATOMY WAS FINALLY ON!!!!!!!!!!! (If I could only have one TV show to watch, it would be Grays’ Anatomy…my guilty pleasure….love it!) Ok, when it was over we switched channels and watched the premiere of ER too. A little too much doctor drama for one night…
10pm I sat down and did some blog writing…
11pm Will be safe and sound in bed with Josh.
To be continued...
