Continued from previous post…
11 a.m.- Started lunch and my best friend called.
11:20 a.m. –Josh and Marcus came home (Marcus came in and said, “Belane! I am home! It is ME!” As if he had been off at war or something…she hugged and kissed him in the same manor). I talked to Josh about Marcus and had the little four sit down to a lunch of Mac and Cheese, crackers, apple slices and water. Josh made lunch for us (he loves to cook!)
11:55 a.m.- Josh went out the door with Maggie and Amanda to take them to preschool. I cleaned up the kitchen while Marcus and Belane went to play.
12: 15 p.m –I read a book to Marcus and Belane (Sam and the Firefly…I love that one!) And then changed Marcus’ diaper, had Belane go potty and put them both down for a nap at 12:30 p.m.
12:31 p.m..-blissful silence…
12:35 p.m.- After my four minutes of blissful silence, I took the dog out and got the mail.
12:50 p.m.- I got a call from a mom who is adopting a little boy at AHOPE and just found out he is pretty sick. He should be very close to coming home, which is good, but the process is highly frustrating. It was nice to talk to her, but tough too, since it was one of my biggest nightmares that Belane would get sick while we were waiting to bring her home. While I talked on the phone, I laid out clothes for the day trip I had to take the next day with Marcus and Belane for a doctor appointment, and packed my back pack.
1:30 p.m.- Enjoyed another moment or two of silence, and then got on the computer to handle some emails, work on blog posts, etc. Didn’t get any blog posts up though.
2 p.m.- Nate came home from school. Thursdays are “early release days” here, and the kids get home an hour early. However on Thursdays, Shane and Ben take the bus to Tae Kwon Do, Mercy and Des take the bus to a girls’ church activity and Ryan takes the bus to Boy Scouts. So, just Nate came home. I talked to Nate about his day and spent some time with him (actually, he mostly talked to me. That kid can talk and talk and talk and talk…)
2:40 p.m.- I went out to get Maggie and Amanda off of the preschool bus (it comes to the end of the driveway, but I have to “sign for them”…LOL).
2:45 p.m.- Belane woke up. She is REALLY snuggly when she wakes up
3 p.m.- The big girls came home.
3:04 p.m.- Ry came home. Everyone got a snack, and then got changed into their Tae Kwon Do uniforms.
3:40 p.m. – Josh dropped Shane and Ben off at home (their TKD class was done) and picked up the rest of the kids and dropped them off at TKD on his way out to the high school for track practice (he coaches the throwers). Shane and Ben got snacks, talked to me about their day, got in the tub and then did their reading.
4:15 p.m.- I put some ground beef in the microwave to help it thaw out, then browned it and seasoned it for tacos. I also shredded half a brick of cheddar cheese. The little kids hung out in the kitchen and had Match Box cars going in every which direction, and were shrieking when the dog chased them. Marcus got a timeout for throwing the cars after a warning.
4:30 p.m. Shane and Ben got to play a little Play Station since they had everything done. The little kids picked up the cars and switched back to puzzles. I rolled 30 tacos and then put them in the oven on warm.
5:30 p.m. Josh and the kids got home. Shane and Ben set the table while Des got in the tub and Ry got in the shower.
