Here is a picture for you…I had it emailed to me today by my sweet friend Keely, so that is why I have it on my computer. In the picture from left to right are Denise (the AAI

volunteer with the awesome blog), Belane and I, Josh (mine), Tesfaye (the famed CHSFS driver and our dear friend), Keely (adoptive mom who is also staying here in Addis for awhile), Josh (Keely’s hubby) and Nate, the volunteer coordinator for AAI, and an all around awesome guy. This picture was taken after a dinner we all had at the Hilton.
And here is the update… It looks like we are finally, finally, finally, going home tomorrow night!!!!!
I say “looks like”, because even though we tracked our waiver packet and know it was delivered to the US Embassy in Addis Ababa today (woo hoo!), there is a still a part of me that has an irrational (maybe) fear that the officer-who-has-it-out-for-me really sent an envelope of shredded paper or something…
But it was a day of good news. First, I got a call from Ethiopian Airlines and they were able to get Belane and I confirmed on the flight tomorrow night without having to pay and upgrade to business class. Since we’ve been bleeding money this whole time, that was a very good thing.
Then I kept tracking the waiver online, and I knew it arrived in Addis by noon, and then knew it was delivered to the Embassy in the late afternoon. Our agency rep said she would just go to the Embassy in the morning and get Belane’s visa. WOO HOO. It was really great to have it delivered today, and to not have to sweat it out in the morning. (been there, done that…no fun).
So we have plane tickets ready to go… I got our laundry done and started re-packing…we are READY. Oh, so ready. I can’t wait to be in Josh’s arms… I can’t wait to be with my wonderful kids… I can’t wait for them all to meet Belane… I can’t wait for us all to just be home sweet home, together.
