Adoption Day Cards

I love finding great adoption-related products, and recently one of my blog readers emailed me to tell me about this company that sells beautiful Adoption Day Cards.

Adoption Day is something that many families celebrate as the day that their family came together, and Adoption Day Cards came about after two adoptive moms noticed that there just weren’t any cards out there that said what they were looking for in regards to adoption.

From the website: “Adoption Day Cards is the partnership of Kate Cutko and Katie Campbell. Kate and Katie met in graduate school and bonded over craft projects instead of homework. Eventually each moved to Maine where they now live with their families. By coincidence, both have adopted children. When it came time for Adoption Day there were no cards available that felt right. So… Adoption Day Cards was born to help celebrate adoption for these families. As the cards were shown to other adoptive families and adoption professionals, the resounding cry was “Yes!” and “We want more!”

Along with adoption day cards, there are also adoption announcements, cards for birth mothers, thank you cards, Congratulations cards, holiday cards, Red Thread cards and multipurpose cards. The artwork on all of these cards is just beautiful, and some of the designs have also been made into adoption wall art, which combines the artwork with little poems and sayings.

The website says, “The mission of Adoption Day Cards is to help adoptive families, birth parents, adoptees and adoption professionals celebrate adoption, and mark important events with lovely images and honest heartfelt text. In addition, Adoption Day Cards hopes that by celebrating adoption with beautiful images and text, we will increase awareness of adoption and adoption issues.”
My favorite wall art by far is a red heart with hands reaching in on top of it. The hands in the picture show three white hands and one brown hand, but they can custom make this one to “match” your family.

I know that when we were heading to South Carolina for the birth of our son and I was trying to find the right card for his birth mother that I would have loved this resource. I think many others would too, whether you are the family adopting or know someone that is. Enjoy!
