Here is the list of organizations that I found that advertise being a resource for helping adoptive families fund their adoptions. *Word of caution- PLEASE investigate any organization closely, including insisting on references, before you give them your hard earned or hard raised money, or that of your family and friends. I have no personal experience with any of these organizations.
Anna Bears Fundraising- I just found this website today and I love it! In a nutshell, you buy teddy bears from Anna Bears, and then sell them to raise money for your adoption. You can either buy a bunch and then sell them, or pre-sell them and then order them. The bears are darling and come in a t-shirt with the flag of the country you are adopting from and either the phrase, “I support adoption,” a picture of a little girl or a photo of the child you are adopting. I think that these would be an easy sell since people are actually getting something for the money they are giving, everybody loves teddy bears and they are fun gifts, too.
A Child’s Desire- This organization offers adoptive parents two fundraising options. The first, is selling magazines and the second is selling Children’s Safety ID cards. Both of these are great ideas…just about everyone has at least one magazine subscription (and you can do renewals through this program) and the Child ID cards are a great product. Visit the website for more information on both options.
Fundraising for Adoption Yahoo Group- This is a Yahoo group for all adoptive parents interested in sharing ideas with other adoptive parents on how to raise money for their adoptions. There are many great ideas to be found here.
Kingdom Kids Adoption Ministries- This organization helps adoptive parents by creating a tax-deductible fund for your family and friends to donate to for your adoption. The money is then given as a grant to the adoptive family. This is a Christian organization. You can read more about the details on the website.
Child Adoption Funds- Child Adoption Funds helps families by helping them set up their own tax-deductible foundation for family and friends to donate to. It costs $185 to set this up, and they ask that you have a minimum of five donors willing to give at least $100 before you set it up. More details are on the webpage.
A Mother’s Love- This organization provides fundraising help for adoptive parents and parents going through infertility. There are over 70 products for you to choose from to sell, so there truly is something for everyone’s tastes. There is a minimal charge to receive the fundraising packet and catalogues, and once the orders are turned in, profit checks are mailed to the adoptive parents. There is lots of information, including testimonials, on the website.
IRP Adoption Funding- This is another organization that helps adoptive parents raise money by selling products. Read the “about me” page for full details.
Adoption bracelets- This is a personal blog of a family that is selling adoption themed bracelets for their adoption, and there is an email address on the blog to write to if you are interested in selling the same bracelets for your adoption fundraising.
Adoptfund- This is another Yahoo group available to all adoptive parents interested in talking with and networking with other adoptive parents for ideas on adoption fundraising.
Fundraising Book- This book is for sale (PDF form) for $10 and claims to have over 100 pages and 100 ideas for adoption fundraising, most of which cost less than $100 to get started with.
As always, please remember that this is not an exhaustive list and if you know of a resource I have missed, let me know!
