Gift Idea - Angel Covers

I know that Christmas still feels a way off, but I am here to remind you (sorry) that Halloween is just around the corner, and after Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas are here before you know it. I know that as of today, there are only 70-something shopping days left until Christmas already (how is that for some stress??)

I can proudly say that I have already started my shopping. I haven't gotten much, and with an adoption in the works, there won't be money for too much besides the kids, but I found a wonderful organization and a wonderful gift idea that I wanted to share with you.

Angel Covers is a wonderful organization that was started by adoptive parents, and does much for orphans all over the world. One of the things that they do is they sell beautiful fleece blankets. While the blankets make a wonderful gift just because they are soft and great-looking, they are even more of a perfect gift because every time you purchase a blanket through Angel Covers, they send you your blanket and then donate a blanket to a child in an orphanage.

I loved the idea of gifts with a meaning, and living in the mountains we love blankets to curl up in, so I ordered each of my kids a blanket through Angel Covers. They had many great prints to choose from, and each of my kids will have a blanket to match their likes and personalities.

I sent along an email with my order and asked if it would be possible for me to have the blankets that they would donate because of my order for AHOPE, and explained what I do for AHOPE as the supplies and donations coordinator. Not only did Kari at Angel Covers give me the blankets donated because of my order, but she gave my enough blankets for every child at AHOPE to get their own fleece blanket.

Fleece is the perfect material to bring to AHOPE because it is lightweight, it is warm, it is super soft, and most importantly, it washes and dries quickly and easily. I am SO excited to deliver these blankets when we travel for Solomon.

The blankets I ordered for my family are wonderful, and each one came in its own little bag with a card saying that a blanket had been donated to a child in an orphanage.

I am going to give my kids their blankets on Christmas Eve, along with new pajamas. I think it will be a fun new tradition.

So, there is my "gift idea" for the week. I am going to try and give a holiday "gift with meaning" idea every week from now until Christmas. (If you have a suggestion, please do email me!)

Also, make sure you check out the Angel Covers website and read about all of the great work they are doing.
