I do love the fact that Disney has given us Mulan and Pocahontas. My daughter is multiracial/cultural. She is Asian (Japanese) and Na. Am. (Black Foot) among others. Her skin color is that of Jasmine so she has several of the princesses that she can relate to. My only question, and I understand that if this movie is placed in 1920 in New Orleans, why must she be a chambermaid? I am pleased that they are making an effort and I, like you, look forward to all the marketing and hype that the other movies have received. Way to go Disney.

Brandy was great as Cinderella, and I do love that movie, but it is just not the same, and certainly did not get the advertising, marketing and other attention that the other princess movies do (for instance she is never included in all of the Princess posters, toys, etc.)

I am hoping that Maddy can become a household name like Belle, Ariel and Mulan. :)
