I found
this website titled Christmas World, when I was doing some research, and I think it is a great resource for

transracial families, adoptive families and any family who enjoys learning about other cultures, and would like to incorporate some culture into their holiday celebrations.
The website has a long list of countries that you can "click" on, to learn about the Christmas customs of that country. Information is given on the history of Christmas, music, food, celebrations, dress, beliefs and folk tales.
There is tons of good information on this site, and there is a lot of fun things that families could do with it...put together some simple games, activities, crafts, etc.
Since there is lots of info on what foods are served traditionally on Christmas in all of the different countries, it would be fun to prepare a "Christmas Around the World" dinner too.
I love this quote from the site...
In a thousand different ways, the peoples of the earth join their hearts in the great communion of mankind that only this season can bring.
There are traditions as old as Bethlehem to remind us of all that has gone before; there are constantly newborn customs as fresh and spontaneous as the wonder of a child's first Christmas.
I really like the way that this site brings together the idea that people all over the world are celebrating together, in their own unique and special ways.
I hope that you enjoy this resource, and find some new, fun ways to celebrate Christmas and some new traditions to create and enjoy with your transracial/transcultural family.
