I think it is awesome that you want to sponsor a child. To sponsor a child from AHOPE (orphanage for HIV+ children in Ethiopia, and where my daughter is from)it is $30 a month, and it makes such a huge difference. You will receive a photo and the child’s history, and then updates and new pictures several times a year. We just received a surprise Christmas card from the little boy we have been sponsoring since Belane came home, which was absolutely my favorite Christmas card. (He is three years old and totally adorable if anyone is considering adopting a toddler aged boy!).

We met Belane at AHOPE and then requested to be her sponsors and then decided to adopt her (and we sponsored her throughout the adoption process). You can request a specific child if you know of one, or ask for a younger child or older child, or just be surprised.

No, it is not wrong. Although they are harder to come up with than you think! We have a thousand funny things happen in this house every day, but I need to be on topic and have things that are relevant to transracial adoption…I am always on the look out though and I am glad you enjoy them! :)
