More questions! I am saving the medical ones for one longer post all together. Here are a few shorter ones.

Angela asked, “Who is in the school play?”

That would be my Mercy, who is 11 years old. Our school district has a school in our town for the kindergarten through third graders, and another school for the fourth through sixth graders. Every year the sixth graders put on a play for their school, the younger school and the community. This year they are doing a really cute play called “Twinderella”, and Mercy is one of the evil step sisters. She is hilarious!

One of the best things about adopting older kids has been watching Mercy and Des blossom and experience new things. Mercy has been good at everything she tries…she sang in our community performance of the Hallelujah choir last year…was the only child in it…and did an awesome job. She also recently sang a solo in our children’s program at church. Soccer, basketball…yup, good at those. Acting? She’s a natural. She learned all of her lines really quickly and is having a great time with. We can’t wait to see it!

My two eight year olds, Ryan and Des, are also in a play. Every year the third graders put on a Christmas play, and they have just started practicing the songs and practicing parts for the auditions. My Des is a very tall girl…she is the tallest one in her class for sure, if not her grade. It makes things awkward at times…like when they did square dancing…but for this play she is thrilled!! The music teacher told her that with her beautiful singing voice (she sings really well!!!) and her height, she should be Mrs. Claus, which is the part she is hoping for. Can’t have an elf who is taller than Santa!

Ry is hoping for the part of Santa…he is quite the ham and is a hilarious kid (not shy at all…and another very good singer!), so I am sure his talents will be put to good use. Lots of fun things coming up.
