Most people in the adoption community are aware that November is National Adoption month every year, with National Adoption Day occurring on November 17.
November is just 15 days away, and now is the time to start thinking about and planning for what you are doing to do during National Adoption Month to promote, support and educate others about adoption.
I think for a lot of people it can be hard to know just exactly what to do for National Adoption Month. Lots of people write about it on their blogs, or mention it at their jobs or to their families. But there is much more that we can do.
Adoption.com is helping families get involved in National Adoption Month this year by providing the
National Adoption Awareness Month Calendar, which has a suggestion for each day of the month of November for some way you and your family can get involved and support adoption. Each idea and activity on the calendar have a link that you can follow for tips, advice and more information, making this calendar a wonderful tool for those that want to make the most of National Adoption Month.
While a lot of people have good intentions for National Adoption Month, it is easy to have the month come and go without getting much done, so now is the time to start making plans for what you are going to accomplish.
During the month of November, organizations across the country will be celebrating adoption, and special attention will be called to the children waiting in the U.S.
foster care system. Thousands of adoptions will be finalized in court on National Adoption Day, which will be November 17.
I would love to hear how you plan on celebrating adoption in the month of November. I will be having more posts on National Adoption Month to share what we are doing and ways that your family can be involved. If you have plans, please share them by leaving a comment.
