In the two years that I have been writing this transracial adoption blog, I have written about many different aspects of transracial adoption.

I have written about international transracial adoption and domestic transracial adoption.

I have looked into ethical, medical and racial issues related to transracial adoption, as well as other big issues involved in adoption.

I have offered practical advice for the actual adoption process, such as help with the paperwork, information on the different steps of the adoption process, advice on how to choose an agency, travel tips and information, packing lists, and tips on surviving the ever-challenging adoption “waiting”.

I have offered lots of advice about bringing home a new child and have written quite a bit on what it is like to be a transracial family.

I have written about adopting infants, toddlers, older children and special needs children. I have shared lots of about the personal journeys and experiences of my own family and our adoptions, and shared lots of articles about other families.

I have provided many resources for transracial adoptive families, including resources for adoption loans, grants and fundraising.

I have highlighted many articles related to transracial adoption, some good, some bad, some helpful and some upsetting.

And I have shared much about my own personal beliefs, feelings and truths related to transracial adoption, and much about my life as a mom to a large, transracial, adoptive family.

I hope that the information has been helpful and enjoyable at the same time. :)

For 2008, I plan to continue to do much of what I have done in the past. I plan to keep on top of transracial adoption-related news, to continue to offer practical adoption advice and parenting advice, to tackle ethical issues related to adoption and to keep you updated on our adoption of Solomon (and share what is adjustment into our family is like if we ever do get him home), as well as continue to share what life is like in our home.

If there is anything you would like me to cover that I have not, or anything you would like to see more of (or less of), please do leave a comment with what you would like to see on the transracial adoption blog for 2008.

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!

Erin, you do such a good job! Your topics are varied and right on task. Your advice has been very helpful for us newbies. We look forward to 2008 (and news of Solomon’s homecoming).

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou! We are in the process of a transracial adoption and at times it can feel so discouraging. I started to think that we might be second rate parents for this baby and not able to give her what she needs. Your blog has encouraged me so much! Thankyou for the support you have given just through sharing your story!
