To lighten the mood from my last post and in sticking with the Father’s Day theme of the week, this “Wednesday Funny” has to do with dads (and men in general).
My husband is a member of our local Rotary Club. One week they had a doctor from South America who was visiting and doing a presentation for the meeting. Before the meeting, introductions were being made and the doctor commented on “how many children” one of the other men had. Well at that, someone else said, “Well if you think he has a lot of children, you need to meet Josh!”
So Josh was introduced and it was explained that he has nine children. The doctor looked at Josh in disbelief, commented on how young he looked and then asked Josh how long he and his wife had been married. Josh said, “Almost 10 years.” With a look of even greater disbelief, the doctor said, “You have NINE children in TEN years of marriage???” and Josh smiled and said, “Yes I do.” To which the doctor said in an almost state of awe, “My friend…you are a MACHINE.”
So, the laughter died down and they had their meeting and Josh came home to tell me about it. When he got to the end of the story (the “machine part”), he thumped his chest proudly. Personally, I was a bit horrified and I asked Josh if he had explained to the poor man that six of our children were adopted. Josh looked at me as if I were stupid and said, “No way! I want that doctor to go back home and tell all of his friends about the man in Wyoming who is a baby making machine!”
So, if you ever travel to South America and hear a legend about a man from Wyoming with great talent in creating offspring, you will know how it got started.
